Stephen A. Baker, Managing Director
Stephen A. Baker, CPA, founder and shareholder of Baker & Company, P.C., currently concentrates his efforts on financial and estate planning, negotiating client transactions and business consulting. Since 1972, Steve has built a wealth of knowledge and experience which he uses in his role as a tax, business and financial advisor. In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Taxation, he is a Personal Financial Specialist accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Steve has been honored with inclusion in "Who’s Who in Massachusetts". He devotes most of his free time to community service and is a member of both the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He is a past president of the board of directors of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore, a past member of the board of directors of North Shore Medical Center, and is a past president of the North Suburban Jewish Community Center in Peabody. Gary D. Hutchins, Director of Operations and Accounting
As Director of Operations and Accounting, Gary is a Certified Public Accountant responsible for professional compliance work and many of the administrative functions at Baker & Company, P.C. He also leads the training and supervision of the professional services and administrative staffs. Gary began his career at Baker & Company, P.C. in 1997 and has acquired the insight and solid experience to direct the firm's operations. Clients look to him for general accounting, tax and consulting matters. In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Gary also holds a Master's degree in Taxation. He is a member of both the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Shelley R. Baker, Director of Client and Community Relations
Shelley is responsible for public relations and marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and has accumulated knowledge and experience working in the public relations field. Her background includes experience in personnel and employee relations, as well as extensive writing of internal and external publications. Shelley is a past chairperson of the Public Relations Committee of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs. Andrew F. Chaves, Accounting Supervisor
As a Certified Public Accountant, Andrew provides professional accounting, audit and tax services to our clients. Andrew joined Baker & Company, P.C. in 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and is a member of both the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Erica L. Colbath, Audit Manager
As Audit Manager, Erica is a Certified Public Accountant responsible for manging the assurance services component of the firm. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Erica currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Bedford Special Education Parent Advisory Council and is also involved in the Bedford Womenade and BEST PTO organizations. Mary Lou Tyler, Tax Accountant
As a Certified Public Accountant, Mary Lou provides our clients with the highest quality services when we need her the most...during the tax season. Due to the cyclical nature of the accounting practice, it would be impossible to get through the busy season without reinforcements. We are fortunate that Mary Lou joined our firm for the 2000 tax year and that she returns every tax season to help us deliver, in a timely manner, the professional services our clients have come to expect. Martha L. Urrutia, Professional Services Support / Tax Preparer and Bookkeeper
In her professional services capacity, Martha provides support for our professional staff. Prior to joining Baker & Company, P.C., Martha spent many years in the banking industry gaining valuable experience from different job responsibilities while focusing on the fields of mathematics and accounting. Tomas R. Fernandes, Staff Accountant
As a staff accountant, Tomas provides accounting, audit and tax services to our clients. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentarations in Accounting and Finance and is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
